Half of Buildings to be Green by 2015
February 2, 2010
According to the Wall Street Journal, a recent study found that half of the nation's non-residential buildings will be green by 2015. This number includes both new construction and renovations, and indicates a large jump from the 15 percent of buildings that are currently considered green.
The study, released in November, uses LEED standards as a measure to determine what would qualify as a green building, however buildings would not have to achieve LEED certification to qualify as 'green;' they must only adhere to LEED standards.
